HNBR Material O-ring
Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) O-rings, also known as Highly Saturated Nitrile (HSN), are made of a synthetic polymer that is obtained by saturating the double bonds in nitrile’s butadiene segments with hydrogen.
This special hydrogenation process reduces many double bonds in main chains of NBR polymers.
This process results in the superior heat, ozone, chemical resistance, and mechanical characteristics of HNBR over standard Nitrile.

Description
Structural Design:
The HNBR O-rings - 90 Shore A stands for ‘Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber.’
Unlike the NBR, the HNBR is a hydrogenated version and is designed to provide good resistance even in extreme conditions.
Because the HNBR is saturated with polymer chains, it has increased thermal stability and abrasion resistance.
In addition, the HNBR is also resilient to oils, fuels and chemicals.
The hardness of 90 shore A makes these O-rings very durable and suitable when it is a requirement that the O-ring must withstand high pressure and extreme temperatures.
Obtained by the hydrogenation of the nitrile copolymer, the HNBR O-ring fills the void left between the NBR, EPDM and FKM elastomers where high-temperature pressures demand high tensile strength while retaining excellent tolerance to oils, freon and chemicals.
