HNBR Material O-ring

Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) O-rings, also known as Highly Saturated Nitrile (HSN), are made of a synthetic polymer that is obtained by saturating the double bonds in nitrile’s butadiene segments with hydrogen.

Description

Structural Design:

HNBR O-rings are excellently resistant to oils and chemicals. Obtained by the hydrogenation of the nitrile copolymer, the HNBR O-ring fills the void left between the NBR, EPDM and FKM elastomers where high-temperature pressures demand high tensile strength while retaining excellent tolerance to oils, freon and chemicals.

Subsequent changes to the material properties of nitrile rubber (NBR) include greater thermal tolerance, wider chemical tolerance and higher tensile strength.

Summary of Advantages:

  • Chemical Resistance
  • Excellent corrosion resistance, tensile resistance, tear resistance and compression set
  • Good resistance to ozone, sunlight and other atmospheric conditions
  • Better abrasion resistance than NBR
  • The temperature resistance and weather resistance are much higher than those of general nitrile rubber

Typically made from polyurethane, alternative materials can be provided upon request to suit your specific needs.
